Exciting Times Ahead: Book Updates and Home Selling Adventures!
I’m thrilled to share some big news on both my writing journey and personal life. Right now, I’m eagerly waiting for the bound copy of Exponential Decay (Draft 2) to arrive in the mail. Seeing my work in physical form, especially with one of the potential book covers, is a milestone I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. Alongside this, life has thrown an unexpected twist: we’re trying to sell our current home quickly because we just got under contract for our dream home with acreage! Balancing writing and house selling is a challenge, but I’m excited to keep you updated on both fronts.
The Joy of Holding a Bound Book
There’s something magical about holding a physical copy of your book. After months of writing, revising, and editing on a screen, seeing the pages bound together brings a new level of motivation. This second draft of Exponential Decay feels like a fresh start, even though it’s a continuation of the work I’ve poured so much into.
The bound copy is printed with one of the potential covers, which makes it feel even more real. Choosing a cover is a big decision because it’s the first thing readers see. Having a physical version helps me evaluate how the design works in real life, not just on a screen. It’s easier to spot details that need tweaking, like font size or color contrast.
Once the book arrives, I plan to dive back into editing with fresh eyes. Holding the book will help me catch errors or awkward phrasing that I might have missed before. It’s a crucial step before I move toward finalizing the manuscript for publication.

Balancing Writing with Life’s Unexpected Turns
Selling a home is never easy, especially when you need to do it quickly. We recently got under contract for a property that feels like a dream come true: a spacious acreage with plenty of room to breathe and create. This opportunity came out of the blue, and now we’re racing against the clock to get our current house ready for sale.
The process involves a lot of moving parts: staging the house, scheduling showings, and handling paperwork. It’s a whirlwind that can easily pull focus away from writing. I’m doing my best to stay on top of updates and keep the momentum going with my book, but if I seem a little quiet, this is why.
One thing I’ve learned is the importance of setting small, manageable goals. For example:
Writing a set number of words each day, even if it’s less than usual
Scheduling specific times for editing to maintain progress
Taking breaks to avoid burnout during the hectic selling process
This approach helps me stay productive without feeling overwhelmed.
What’s Next for Exponential Decay and Me
After the bound copy arrives and I finish this round of edits, the next step will be to either scrap and start over with the cover design or potentially print Draft 3 with another potential cover design. Either way, I have another couple rounds of editing to go. I’m excited to share more about the cover options soon and get feedback from my potential readers.
On the home front, once our current house sells, the move to the new property will open up fresh inspiration. Having a new environment, especially one with acreage, means more space for writing retreats, brainstorming sessions, and quiet moments to focus.
I’m also planning to share more behind-the-scenes updates about both the book and the move. Whether it’s tips on balancing big life changes with creative work or sneak peeks of the new home, I want to keep you involved in this journey.
Staying Connected During Busy Times
If you notice I’m a bit less active on here or social media, please know it’s because I’m juggling a lot right now. Writing, working full time, being a wife and mom of two kids, and selling a home at the same time is a challenge, but it’s also an exciting chapter full of growth.
I appreciate your support and patience as I navigate these changes. Your encouragement means a lot and keeps me motivated to push forward with both the book and life goals.
